The Chosen

helped out many a friend - men i called my brother
haven't weighed the balance of what we owe each other
saw their need and met it, they often did so for me
never a debit or credit, just goodwill given openly
now i hold no riches; no gold, no coin, no mansion
yet i hold the eternal wealth of brotherhood expansion
while family's chosen for you, a friend you willingly choose
at your last breath, friendship is wealth you will never lose.
there is no greater treasure anyone may claim to hold
no more poignant a story than any that will ever unfold
the bond of a brother means one will lay down his life
and will stand side by side in the face of any strife
i have chosen my brothers with more yet to come
the fruits of such blessing will be known to everyone
a message of brotherhood and acceptance of others
will be felt by the whole world, not just by me and my brothers
there is certain ONENESS in discovering the TWO
this is not secret knowledge only for the very few
We each share the link directly to our ONE creator
the unifying, divine self - is the self that is greater
the part of our consciousness aligned with a creative plan
this aspect of the self is present in every woman and man
and the aspect of destruction, agony, and personal shame
is also there... we all must try to combat the pain
when brothers can meet and confess to their TWO sides
and focus on the point where the TWO coincide
and CHOOSE the aspect that clearly come from love
we will see there is no joy that we are unworthy of
