HE IS COME!

I been baptized
Circumcised
Anglicized
Communionized
Humiliated
Segregrated
Hated
But never incarcerated.

Anointed
But disappointed
This place is disjointed!
Where’s the finger pointed?

Raptured
Never captured
A caring God enamored
This time for which we clamored -
It’s in the air!
Consciousness to share!
Feel the breeze!
This moment to sieze….

Peace and Light

The Witnesses' Charge
When I first witnessed, I was mired in sin…
He told me I could still get in.
I was frightened and shaky, such regret in my heart,
He gently explained that I may have a new start.

Falling and dying, I saw the pit of my soul;
And never had realized I could become whole.
Then the light blinded and Jesus' arms embraced –
Though God’s child, barely could I see His face.

After a new birth, I plodded along my way…
His spirit guiding where to go and what to say.
Being human, I have been a rascally child;
Yet Jesus’ gentle spirit is so tender and mild.

From God’s grace, we have come to witness once more…
The Son is not interested in evening any score.
He merely wants us to pass His great Father’s test;
This is not about who’s worst, least, or best.

Given a calling, feeling too weak and frail for His charge,
Here’s hoping that with proof our consciences enlarge;
That we renounce what we already know is the beast,
By treating as brethren - even them who are very least.

Raising the Dead

Lazarus is a way-shower for the common man. What happened to him after he was brought back to life? We know he had some money, and two sisters name Mary and Martha, who hung out with Jesus, but what did he die of? Four days in a closed tomb? Phew!

Most importantly, what did he do with his newfound "second" life? Did he simply retire, only to die again of perhaps the same ailment? I would bet on it… So what "good" did Jesus do by raising him? Was he just being selfish because he felt like partying with Lazarus and his sisters, and the untimely death was an inconvenience?

Maybe the message is deeper. Maybe it was a purposeful demonstration of the meaninglessness of the flesh. He may have meant to prove that the earthly world of matter is, in fact, mere primacy of our eternal existence. To Jesus, four days didn't even register on the scale of infinite time. Lazarus had learned the truth, and didn't care about dying again, for he no longer had a shred of fear.

I'm sure Lazarus died the second time a happy man, because he knew….
